Overview and Responsibilities:
614 Club is currently seeking a Video Director intern who will be responsible for bringing Jeremiah's vision from the script to the screen. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in mise-en-scene and editing to establish a comedic tone, style, and rhythm for all pre-filmed sketches, opens, commercials, and music videos for The 614 Club. This includes:
- Directing actors
- Cinematography and Gaffing
- Staging props and other production design elements
- Editing
- Sound Recording and Design
- VFX compositing and editing
- Motion graphics
The Creative Director will report to Jeremiah and Xavier, who will initiate projects and set deadlines.
Fundamentals:
- Lighting Soundstage/On-Location
- Lighting for compositing
- Adobe Creative Suite
- YouTube Studio
- Deep interest in news and current events
- Social media savvy
- You can work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and weekends as needed. The workday starts early, the news is always happening, and you thrive in the daily media cycle.
Work Experience:
- 6+ Months directing and producing content
- Demonstrates the ability to lead a crew
- Experience working in advertising is a plus
- Experience working with high-profile talent is a plus

Fundamentals:
- You enjoy staying current with current events and examining news articles from multiple outlets.
- Exceptionally quick search abilities: It's important to utilize various online resources to gather information, including but not limited to searching on Google, Twitter, Reddit, and other credible sources.
- Dig deeper than what's presented on the surface. If a fact from a poll is quoted by NBC News or CNN, ensure to go the extra mile and identify any additional details that were not mentioned by the editorial team. This may include the size of the polling group or whether the demographic is too narrow.
- Efficiently convert research and data into intriguing, precise, and pertinent talking points for the program.
- Find and gather obscure video clips quickly and efficiently, even with tight deadlines. You can search through YouTube, Rumble, and Vimeo, but it's important to have strong skills in keywording, targeting, omitting, skimming, and scrubbing to excel in this task.
- In this job, it is crucial to be highly organized as you will be handling multiple time-sensitive requests simultaneously. Only a skilled organizational master can excel in this role.
- It is important to comprehend the constitutional perspective and present arguments that align with it.
- As a collaborator, you will be responsible for completing your assigned tasks while also working alongside others and engaging in open discussions about current events such as politics, sports, movies, music, celebrity culture, and viral trends. It is important to be comfortable with ongoing conversations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist The 614 Club team by discovering captivating and current news stories.
- Create "prep documents" that include historical facts, relevant legislation, political figures, and comparisons between different locations (such as the approach to managing COVID-19 in California versus Florida).
- Conduct research and compose sections on diverse subjects. We don't expect you to be an expert, but we do rely on you to research the topics thoroughly. Please highlight what's intriguing about the subject and provide the top 10 things that the audience should know. Your task is to present the facts and maintain a balance in the creative process.
- Present and endorse information in a manner that is easy for the audience to understand.
- Just to clarify, although this role is based in Production, it primarily involves research and writing tasks. It does not include location scouting, permit clearances, styling, or any other aspects of content-based production.
